Jenni started her dental career as a dental nurse studying at Guys Dental Hospital in 1987 and on qualifying, worked in the Maxillo-facial surgery department where she assisted many Royal Navy (RN) dental surgeons based in Central London.
Eager for the challenges that only the armed forces could give, she joined the Royal Navy in 1989 to pursue a career as a RN dental nurse. She served at numerous shore-based establishments from Plymouth to Portsmouth and as far as Rosyth.
Promoted to Leading Hand, she was appointed practice manager but missed the interaction with patients and the “front line” of dental health. She left the RN in 2002 to study as a dental hygienist at Kings College Hospital, London.
On qualifying she joined Bupa at their flagship dental surgery in Bank, City of London. Using her experiences from the Navy, she quickly developed her skills and knowledge as a hygienist and was involved in Bupa’s dental education scheme in 2016. She re-located with her family to Devon in 2017 and joined Abbey Mead dental practice in 2019.
