Ever thought about Dental Implants?
Benefits of Implants
- They look, feel and function like natural teeth. This means you can eat and drink whatever you are used to.
- They improve quality of life by increasing your confidence.
- People who are embarrassed by tooth problems can be astonished by the ways implant supported teeth increase their self-esteem.
Dental implants are substitutes for the roots of missing teeth. They act as an anchor for a replacement tooth or crown or a set of replacement teeth. You can replace a single tooth, several teeth or they can be used to stabilise loose or painful dentures.
At Abbey Mead we offer a FREE initial implant consultation to assess suitability. This is with the dental surgeon Paddy McVeigh: who both places and restores the implants. A full written report with all treatment options and estimates is provided. Implants can start from as low as £900. The cost of one fully restored implant is £2300 but prices can be lower and vary on numbers placed and complexity.
It’s important to make sure that the dentist who does your procedure has experience and has completed post graduate training in placing implants. Ideally they should have specific implant qualifications from one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons or a MSc. Don’t be afraid to ask your dentist how much experience of placing and restoring implants he or she has.
Paddy has extensive post graduate qualifications and experience having treated over 500 cases. He also maintains a detailed log book of all his implant and surgical procedures for audit and peer review.
If several dentists are involved in your treatment it is important to ascertain who is responsible if there is a problem. At Abbey Mead we can offer insurance against implant rejection or failure.
We only use high quality European CE marked implant systems and the latest CADCAM technology restorations. These systems are favoured by the country’s leading implant surgeons. They are not the cheapest on the market. Cheaper Far Eastern “cloned” imitations may not be fully guaranteed or supported in the UK.
In the same way that you need to maintain your own teeth and gums with regular visits to the dentist and hygienist this is required for implants. At Abbey Mead our dentists and our hygienists are all very experienced in maintaining dental implants and your general oral health. Emma previously worked in Harley Street and Maxine is a tutor at the Peninsula Dental School.
