Lia Goodhead

Hi, my name is Lia and I’ve been working as a dental nurse since 2006, qualifying in 2009.I started off working in an NHS practice, have worked in a hospital maxillofacial department and then transferred to fully private practices. I worked in Liskeard when I became pregnant in 2012 and gave birth to a very “BIG” healthy baby called Thomas. After 9 mths maternity leave I wished to return to work but living near Tavistock, I preferred to work closer to home and to Thomas. I had heard lots of lovely things about Abbey Mead so I decided to phone to enquire about a job. I couldn’t believe my luck, they were just about to advertise a post. A member of staff was leaving after over 10 years: sadly due to illness. I was successful at interview and the rest is history. I now work on reception and as a dental nurse.

When I am not working I love to take Thomas out for walks (preferably when its not raining!), to shop (ideally for sparkly things) and to simply spend time with my family and friends.

Hello there, I joined Abbey Mead in 2016 but I’ve been working in the dental industry for more years than I care to mention! I qualified as a dental nurse twice; in 1991 and again in 2012.

My hobbies include swimming, walking, reading, spending time with my family and all to ensure I enjoy life. My husband and I have a large blended family; 5 children and 5 grandchildren.

Corrina Daymond

Corrina Daymond – GDC 173123

I have worked at Abbey Mead Dental Practice since November 2004. Since that time I have gained my NEBDN qualifications in dental nursing and oral health education, alongside the mandatory professional development training the job requires. My next aim is to complete the NEBDN radiography qualifiacation.

I am married with 2 primary school children; consequently I don’t have a lot of spare time!!

I enjoy walking, swimming and reading as well as socialising with family and friends when I get a chance!

Teresa Ford

Teresa Ford – GDC 118979

Hi, my name is Teresa Ford. I have been a dental nurse for far too long; since the age of 16. I qualified in May 1996 and furthered myself with Radiography in September 1997 and Implantology in September 2005. I have been at Abbey Mead since October 1999. My family and 2 children take up all my social time.

Maxine Kane

Maxine Kane – GDC Number 10838

I have worked in the Dental industry for 30yrs since qualifying as a Dental Therapist in London in 1979 and as a Dental Hygienist in Birmingham in 1982. My first position was in the Kent Community Dental Service and since then I have gained experience working abroad, in the NHS and now in private practice with Paddy and Ann as well as being involved in different areas of education within the new Peninsula Dental School, Plymouth.

I am married with two beautiful daughters, who keep me busy with their swimming competitions in the West Country and other social commitments. One daughter is now studying Dentistry!

My spare time is generally spent swimming, at the movies or outdoors enjoying historical sites or the British countryside.

Natasha Draper – GDC Number 262330 Dental Nurse

Hi, My name is Natasha but everyone calls me Tash. I have been dental nursing for some years and became registered with the General Dental Council in February 2016. Dentistry has created a passion in me for the industry which I wish to persue. I aim to gain further qualifications starting with radiography.

Before working in dentistry I qualified in beauty therapy which I continue to do in my spare time. My hobbies are exploring parts of the world, arts & crafts and enjoying music festivals!

Katherine Milligan

Katherine Milligan – Receptionist

Hello, my name is Katherine, this is my first job in a dental practice and I am enjoying working with the friendly staff and patients. My interests are running and keeping fit. I am a qualified florist and will be using my talent to create a weekly arrangement for the surgery. Please admire in the waiting room!

Emma Saunders

Niciola Hendry – GDC 107759

My name’s Nicola, but I usually go by Nic.

My dental nursing journey began in 2004 when I joined the Royal Air Force. That is where I gained the best possible training to become a dental nurse. I qualified and gained my GDC registration in 2007 – a proud moment

I left the RAF in 2008, after I met my now husband, to settle down. We now have 3 children together so perhaps not so settled!

I have since had various experiences in dental nursing including locum nursing, NHS settings and being a dental nurse assessor. After my maternity finished in early 2017 I contacted Abbey Mead in the hopes that they had a position available, luckily for me they did!

When I am not working I enjoy spending my time with friends and family.

Emma Saunders

Emma Saunders – GDC 3508

Emma started her dental career at University Dental Hospital London where in 1983 she qualified as a Dental Surgery Assistant. After working as a member of hospital staff for several years she trained and qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1988.

Since then she has worked in both NHS and private practice. For 15 years she worked for renowned Periodontologist and Implantologist Dr Alan Sidi in the West End of London. In 2003 Emma moved to Devon. Abbey Mead was lucky to have Emma join the team at this time.

Emma’s hobbies include a love of horses, animals and the countryside. She also enjoys walking and reading.

(Our customers regularly say that Emma is the most gentle and motivating hygienist they have come across!)
